About the band
Blackwater Down is a rock band from Nashville, TN. Which is like saying that the '74 Dodge Challenger is a car from Detroit. While the statement is true, it fails on nearly every level to capture the power, depth and magic of the entity itself. Blackwater Down's music conjures the electric tension of a duel at high noon on main street as well as the dark danger of swirling swamp water. Big, bad-ass rock riffs made by massive, meaty bass tones, gigantic & dominating drumming, and eerily incendiary guitars support lyrics & melodies that have the grit to make you want to drink, fuck or fight. In an era of rock that's been polished to a sickening shine, Blackwater Down's brand of precious metal has a touch of patina to it. This is the kind of rock that makes you want to drive a classic Camaro through the desert at top speed, chug a bottle of whiskey & chain-smoke full-flavor cigarettes. This is the kind of rock your mama warned you about. This is Blackwater Down.

Mike Carr

The Fire. Fueled by equal parts passion and warfare, Mike cuts an unforgettable image onstage. Attention to detail sets him apart from your average metal bassist, making him the perfect bridge between the beat of the drums and the grind of the guitars. If you look at Mike and think “wizard”, you're not far off, as he is the chief producer and engineer for the band's studio recordings. A true tone junkie, Mike is all about relentlessly chasing a sound or vibe until it has been captured.

Chris "BurN" O'Brien

The Heartbeat. All realms need a timekeeper, and BurN fills that role and so much more. A contradiction of confounding proportions, BurN is simultaneously the last man you would ever wish to anger, and the first man a stray kitten will choose to be rescued by. Both behind the kit and in day to day life, BurN excels at holding things down, and his uncanny luck brings an element of pleasant surprise to every song and situation.

Luke Alonso

The Gunslinger. Whether high noon or midnight, Luke is always ready to duel, throwing down with his blazing chops and electrifying stage presence. He wields his instrument with precise and reckless abandon, whether carving out a groove like a surgeon's scalpel or burning up the fretboard like napalm. From the first note, the Duellist from St. Louis will leave you begging for more or begging for mercy.
